Our Mission

Green Mountain Gospel Chapel’s mission: To glorify God and honor Jesus Christ as The Way, The Truth, and The Life. To see every generation impacted and changed by that steadfast and enduring message. That they might find forgiveness, salvation, new life and the victorious power of the Holy Spirit. To be a church that endeavors to be relevant in its community and in the world. Matthew 5:14-16; John 8:12

Our Vision

We envision a church where all of the following exist and are thriving:

(This list is not intended to be exhaustive or exclusive, but rather our best current representation)

  • To see people accept The Way, The Truth, and The Life and be transformed by Him (Christ)

  • To reach out to our community in tangible ways (First Responders, Police, schools, CareNet, Food Self, etc.)

  • To reach beyond our community

  • To be increasingly involved in missions (local/domestic/foreign) and to increase our support levels

  • To establish a teaching, discipleship and equipping pattern

  • To commit and dedicate ourselves to serving the Lord

  • To grow and mature in God’s gifts and fruit

  • To grow in worship, which is the entire conduct of our lives (seek to worship in Spirit and Truth)

Our Beliefs

The following statement of Fundamental Truths is intended as a basis of fellowship among us (i.e., that we all speak the same thing.  I Corinthians 1:10; Acts 2:42).  The truth set forth is held to be essential to Ministry.  No claim is made that it contains all the truth of the Bible.

Section 1.

We believe that the Bible, in its entirety, is the Word of God, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and it is our only infallible rule of faith and conduct.  (2 Peter 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:16).

Section 2.

We believe the Godhead consists of the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.  (2 Corinthians 13:14; Matthew 28:19).  Three in One and One in Three.

Section 3.

We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ (John 1:14), in His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23), His miracles (Acts 10:38), His substitutionary work on the cross (2 Corinthians 5:21), His bodily resurrection from the dead (I Corinthians 15:4), His exaltation to the right hand of God (Hebrews 1:3).

Section 4.

We believe in the reality of Satan and that all mankind as descendants of Adam have sinned and that the wages of sin is death.  Death is eternal damnation and separation from God. (Romans 3:23, 6:23; Revelation 20:15).

Section 5.

We believe that one’s eternal salvation is made possible only by the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ and is received through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.  One is saved by grace through faith, not as a result of works that no man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8, 9; Acts 20:21; Titus 3:5).

Section 6.

We believe in Jesus Christ’s personal return in power and great glory, and that heaven is a prepared glorious habitation for all believers; And that hell is a place of outer darkness for all unbelievers. (Acts 1:11;     1Thessalonians 4:16-17; Titus 2:13; Revelation 1:7  22:7;).

Section 7.

We believe that every born again Christian should follow the example of our Lord in baptism by immersion in water and by celebrating the Lord’s supper (communion).  (Romans 6:4; Acts 8:36, 37; Matthew 3:13-15).

Section 8.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man.

(I Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 7:25).

Section 9.

We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as a distinct experience from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth, and in the gifts of the Holy Spirit as being valid and operative today (Acts 2:4, 10:44, 45, 19:1-6; I Corinthians 12 and 14) and that they should be earnestly desired by the believer.

Section 10.

We believe in ongoing sanctification and holiness of heart and the overcoming life as scriptural requirements for the Bride of Christ, and that the fruit of the Holy Spirit should be increasingly evident in a Christians’ life as demonstrated in Galatians chapter 5 and Revelation 12:11.

Section 11.

We believe that the only scripturally sanctioned sexual relationship is within marriage and that the only scriptural marriage is between one man (as determined by genitalia at birth) and one woman (as determined by genitalia at birth). (Genesis 2:24; Romans 7:2; I Corinthians 7:10; Ephesians 5:22-23)

Section 12.

We believe that regular fellowship with other born again believers and commitment to a local church, with regular participation in its activities, is important to personal spiritual growth.  (Hebrews 10: 24, 25; Acts 2: 42-47).
