What to Expect

Is Green Mountain Non-Denominational?

Yes.

We are a Fellowship of Christian Assemblies Church that operates autonomously. The Word of God is our authority (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The Scriptures teach us that Jesus is the Head of His Church (Ephesians 1:22-23).

We have a leadership chosen from within the Church Body at GMGC as directed by God’s Word (Elders and Deacons).

How often do you take communion?

We take communion the first Sunday of every month. You don’t need to be a member of connections to share in the Communion. You only need to be a believer in Christ.

What type of music can I expect in worship?

Most important is to sing songs that glorify God. We use a mix of music types. We sing new songs, old songs, old songs made new. We use both a modern and traditional sound. If you like it upbeat, we have that. If you like hymns played by piano, we have that. We want to be a family church, not an age-specific church. To do this, we must celebrate with a variety of music styles that glorifies God.

How often do you take offering?

We include the offering in our worship time each week. It’s an opportunity to express our gratitude to God for how He provides. If you are a visitor, you are welcome to participate in the offering, but please don’t feel obligated to do so.

What should I wear when I come?

There is no dress-code. People wear shorts and flip-flops, jeans and t-shirts, suits, dresses, and casual dress. The best rule to go by is to dress modestly and respectfully.

Should I bring anything when I come?

Bring your Bible. Bring a friend. Bring an open heart. Bring a smile. Bring laughter. Just come!

What is the age-range of your people?

We have folks of every age.

What size is the church?

Our average attendance is around 70.

How long is the service?

The service lasts approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.

Are small children welcome in the service?

Yes, absolutely. We do have a nursery available if you chose to use it. However, it is not required that you use the nursery.

What do you have for youth and children?

A nursery is provided for children up to age 3. During the sermon in the service, we also send our kids from age 3 to 3rd grade to enjoy a lesson for their age group. For our youth, from 8th to 12th grade, we have a group that meets on Saturday nights from 6:00 to 7:30pm.
